Dr. Liz Berney is President of Berney Associates, an organization development
and management training company. Berney Associates consults to organizations
on organizational change, team building, conflict resolution and strategic
planning.
Dr. Liz Berney has worked for both the private and public sectors. Selected
clients include: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Tropicana, Coca Cola, American
Red Cross, AT&T, FannieMae, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts,
Marriott Corporation, MCI Telecommunications Corporation, U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency, U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Pharmacopeia, Montgomery
General Hospital, Starwood Hotels, and Baldrige National Quality Program.
Liz Berney currently teaches for the
Accelerated MBA Program at George Washington University, Executive
Programs at the University of Maryland's School of Business and
Management, and for the Office of Continuing Education, Summer
and Special Programs at the University of Maryland. She developed
and directed the Organization Development Certificate Program
at Georgetown University and has taught for the American Management
Association.
Dr. Liz Berney received a Bachelor's
Degree in Psychology from Yale University and an M.A. and Ph.D.
in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of
Maryland. She earned a Teaching Excellence Award as a graduate
student from the University of Maryland and a Distinction in
Psychology Award from Yale University.
Dr. Liz Berney's specific areas of
interest are in helping make teams more effective through more
clearly identifying roles and responsibilities, goals, and processes/mechanisms
for decision-making, communication and coordination. She uses
team building strategies, strategic planning techniques as well
as training in communication, negotiation, conflict management
and team dynamics to heighten the productivity of all kinds of
teams.
Liz Berney, Ph.D., provides presentations

to full day sessions that can include small group breakouts to
apply the material presented to your organization's specific
